Packed with protein for strong muscles and healthy feathers, they provide a nutritious and natural supplement to balanced layer feed. Because chickens find live mealworms irresistible, they are perfect for taming and bonding with your flock.

Store at room temperature for weeks, during which time they should be offered chicken feed and a small piece of carrot or apple for moisture. As they mature, some mealworms will become pupae, the middle stage between mealworm and adult mealworm beetle. The pupae are even higher in protein than mealworm larvae, and add variety for your girls.

Mealworms can also be stored for 6–10 weeks in the refrigerator, at 40–50 degrees F.
