Description
Superworms are very similar to mealworms, but larger, and with more fat. They share the mealworms’ very low calcium levels. We feed very few superworms to our animals, preferring the smaller mealworms instead. They are more digestible, and have more surface area for calcium supplement to stick to. Still, many animals love superworms as an occasional treat, just don’t overdo it.
Superworms will store at room temperature for many weeks or months without pupating or turning into beetles. Keep in a substrate of organic chicken feed, and offer carrots as a moisture source.
