Description
Black soldier fly adults are slow-flying and irresistible to insect-eating critters large enough to eat a fly that is about an inch long. Lizards will often leap into the air to snag them, making black soldier flies the most entertaining feeders available! They also boast an impressive nutrient profile, and contain high levels of calcium, though not as high as the larvae. These come in a large deli cup with BSF pupae and a coco coir substrate for them to burrow into. The flies will either be emerging, or almost ready to do so, when you get your fly culture. Many will gather on the lid of the deli cup, which can be gently removed and tapped into your enclosure. Any escapees are easy to catch, being slow-flying and clumsy compared to nuisance flies.
